TWO STATE CHAMPS RECOGNIZED BY MAYOR AND STATE REPRESENTATIVE

The Warren Woods Tower wrestlers had a strong season and to top it off, many qualified for states. Of the qualifiers, we had Elijuh Weaver ’17 win first place and Chaise Mayer ’19 as runner up.
Both chaise and Elijuh have been wrestling since they were four years old. “We compete everyday in everything even outside of the wrestling room, but it’s healthy competition and we motivate each other,” Chaise Mayer ’19 explains.
“He’s my teammate and we’re all like family,” Mayer adds.
To prepare for states, they both put a lot of time and effort into bettering themselves. They put focus on the small details and wanted to make the most of every opportunity they had. All of their hard work paid off when both came out on top.
Because of their accomplishments, both Elijuh and Chaise were visited by Mayor Fouts and State Representative Bieda. During the visit, they received a certificate signed by the mayor and a plaque. The Mayor and State Rep took time out of their day to come to Tower and meet our two wrestlers which was greatly appreciated by them. Both wrestlers should be proud of coming this far and all the hard work they have done to get to where they are.
If we can learn anything from Elijuh and Chaise’s achievements, it is that if you are passionate about something and put all effort into becoming the best you can be, you will go far in life. Dedication and hard work is what gets you places.

Good luck to all wrestlers as we are anxious to know the outcome of what the next season brings.
