Girls Varsity soccer team ended their season undefeated and walked off the field as back-to-back MAC Silver champions. Next year the girls will be moving up a division, but for the seniors this was their last game as Warren Woods Tower students. Although sad it was their last game, they ended the season with an 8-0 shut out against South Lake once again taking home the title.
Many of the seniors have been playing for the team all four years and have made so many memories. “Today when we won the championship with an undefeated season was my favorite memory because it was such a good way to end senior year,” Kaitlyn Genovich ’16 explained.
“My favorite part of being on the team was being able to rely on on other people and work together to achieve one goal,” co- captain Cortney York ’16 stated.
Even though some seasons felt like they lasted forever, nothing truly does last forever and when the seniors leave they will be missed along with all the good times they had being a part of skipper’s crew. “I’m gonna miss my teammates and the bus rides together,” Kristen Chambe ’16 said.
“It doesn’t feel real that it’s over. It’s actually very sad knowing ill never play with the same people or step on the same field again,” Chambe added.
“Soccer has been the highlight of my high school year, so not having  it will be so different adjusting to, I’m just so happy we were able to end the year with a bang!  I am going to miss the family the team created.  My coaches and team mates mean so much to me and it will be hard not being able to see/play with them all the time,” co-captain Alexa Andary ’17 remarked.
This soccer season was one to remember and for those graduating just know that “Once a Titan, always a Titan!” Being a member of the soccer team meant having another family, and the bond between the players is what has really shown through the season. The game is what brought these students together and when the final whistle blows, they will still be a part of each other in spirit.
