It’s time for a change at Warren Woods Tower, as an intervention strategy, called Titan Time will begin to run its course this coming Thursday. Yes, you read that right, intervention. This means on approximately every Tuesday and Thursday (if the schedule permits) students will have a chance to work in a small group with their teacher for 20 minutes in the hour scheduled for that intervention day, to get extra help.

Now don’t worry, if you have a 70% or higher in that class you have several options to choose from during Titan Time. You can: leave the class, stay, gather in the library, take a seat in the commons, chill out in the café, or even possibly the halls. But if there are disciplinary issues in the hallways or any other area, alternative placement will be created.

This will be an adjustment for everybody at WWT, even the staff. “It will only get better as things roll out,” Klayo, Math Department Head, stated.

Titan Time is not meant to be a punishment for any student, rather than an opportunity. This is an opportunity to raise those grades and understand your subjects more. So, if you are below a 70% in the class you are not permitted to leave.

The only class that will not have an intervention day will be 4th hour, due to the fact that lunch cannot be modified.

There are still all the little kinks that need to be worked out but adjustments will be made as needed.

The teachers of WWT are gearing up for this Thursday, as should the students. “I think this is a good thing because some kids are too scared to go ask for extra help,” Nicole Gacki ’17 stated.

“It really came from the teachers, to help the students be more successful,” Mr. Mackenzie, WWT Principal added.
