About two weeks ago, the Interact club put together the Pennies for Pasta fundraiser. This fundraiser is annual and is aimed at raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Classes donate their change in the hopes that they will win a pasta party sponsored by Olive Garden. Each year, the Interact club was hopeful that they will surpass the past year’s donation. Last year, Interact collected about $1300 from this fundraiser. This year, however, the fundraiser only yielded about $533.
The classes that raised the most this year were Mr. Sell’s class, which has 7 students who donated $97 (just under $14 per student), and CRC, a class of 21 students who raised $215 (about $10 per student). These two classes will be sharing the pasta party. The Interact club was still pleased with student participation, and thanks everyone who took part. However, next year, they hope to go above and beyond this year’s donation and rely on student’s continual support.
