Fellow Titans, musical season is already upon us! If it seems like it’s came quickly or early in the school year you’re right, as this year the fall/winter play has been sadly skipped entirely due to no interest and money. The drama club is sure to make this into a positive thing however, as they now have time to promote the spring musical, which was announced recently at the fall band review, taking place at Warren Woods Middle School (WWMS).

Prior to the announcement of the musical, the club elected representatives for the drama club from each grade. These were the chosen ones who would announce the upcoming musical. “Most of us are in band and feel as though many people always attend the fall review, so why not announce it there? It’ll definitely spread the word faster and it can become a new tradition,” senior representative Elizabeth Virden ‘18 says.

Now for the big reveal. The spring musical this year will be..

‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!’ Or for short, ‘Joseph.’ It’s based around the biblical story of Joseph from the book of Genesis, created by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, who is behind other great musicals you may have heard of such as ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ and ‘Cats!’

Auditions, like the fall band review, will be held at WWMS in the auditorium, enter stage door #46, on November 14th and 15th, registration beginning at 3:45pm and auditions ending at 7pm both days, you are able to audition anytime in this time frame, only needing to attend one day. Callbacks, if needed, will be on the 16th. For more information on the roles and audition songs, be sure to follow the drama club’s many social media accounts.

“If you have any further questions, be sure to email [email protected] or speak with one of the class representatives,” says Mary Rivers, parent volunteer of the drama club. Class representatives are listed in the picture below.

The Drama Club welcomes all who are interested, no matter if you are a beginner or a veteran of the past musicals such as ‘Footloose,’ ‘The Little Mermaid,’ and ‘Legally Blonde.’ If you’re not a performer but enjoy the arts, tickets go on sale November 18th ($10 student/senior, $12 adults). As for this years musical, which will be performed April 13, 14, and 15th in 2018, all involved are excited for what’s to come.
