Juniors and Seniors, the day you’ve been waiting for is approaching- Prom. While it’s a few months away, it is important to look into it now.

Though the dance seems a ways off, it is actually right around the corner. Time will continue to fly by and Prom will be here sooner than you think. So guys, it’s time to start asking your special someone to the dance.

For girls, it is important to be asked to the dance as soon as humanly possible. It may sound ridiculous, but there is a lot of planning that goes into Prom for the ladies. Not only does she have to find the perfect dress, but she has to ensure that she has a hair appointment, or some sort of plan for her hair; and believe me guys, these appointments fill up fast.

Guys, you have some planning to do as well. A girl likes to be asked to prom in a unique way- a text message just won’t cut it. Even if you just show up to her door and ask her, she’ll see that you’re putting forth the effort. Your significant other will always understand a budget, so don’t fret about looking too cheap.

Now, since dinner is served at Prom, you don’t have to worry about taking her out; BUT, she probably will expect you to pay for her ticket. If that’s just really not in your budget, talk with her about it, she’ll probably be understanding about the situation.

Don’t forget about the corsage! It’s a simple, but affectionate gesture, and you girl will appreciate it immensely. Even just bringing her flowers on that day would be special.

Also, be sure that you’re attire matches hers for the evening. Whether you intend to match your tie to her dress color, or your vest, make sure that you go together well (girls usually care about that sort of thing).

Whether you’re going with a date or going with friends, it’s important to know who you’ll be spending the evening with. When the time comes to seat people at tables, make sure you get the info ready on time so that you’re sitting with your friends. Also, make sure you have somewhere to take pictures before the dance (it’s going to be a memorable night!).

As springtime approaches, Prom does too. So, make sure you get to planning soon!
