Basketball season is in full swing here at WWT, and the always entertaining basketball team is back to business as usual, lead on to the court by head coach Nick Evola. The Titans are 7-3 on the season, following a disappointing loss on the road to Port Huron Northern.

The final score was 38-49 in favor of the Huskies. This game followed what was very easily one of the most entertaining games of the season, where the Titans came out on top against St. Claire, in a thrilling double overtime finish. The Titans secured the win, with a score of 83-75.

There were some bright spots in Tower’s last loss to Port Huron Northern. Among them was Connor Christian ’18, who was able to put up a nice total of 6 rebounds. Christian was also able to contribute eight points to the stat sheet.

Although Tower’s basketball has been finding success, they aren’t satisfied with how they compare to teams in their division. Currently, the Titans sit in third place in the MAC Gold conference. The outlook is positive for the team overall, but it is also understood that there are areas to improve. “I think we do a good job of moving the ball around and bringing the right amount of energy,” Christian says. “We need to do a better job of listening and communicating on the floor.”

Tower’s next basketball game is on Tuesday, January 23rd as they host a struggling 4-6 Port Huron team.
