It’s everyone’s favorite time of the year- Christmas. With this time of year brings a large number of people to local shopping stores, trying to find the best deals and the hottest items to bring under the Christmas tree. There are many hot new items on the store shelves that can bring excitement to everyone.
When buying people gifts, you should ask yourself some questions. First of all, what does the person you’re buying the gift for like to do? If they enjoy playing sports, maybe some gifts related to sports, such as athletic sportswear, sports accessories, or even tickets to the next Detroit sporting event. Second, ask yourself if the person would use the gift. Buying a baseball bat for a football player probably wouldn’t be a good idea.
Think about what the person does in their spare time. If they like to play videogames after school, buy them videogame accessories. It would also be a good idea to keep a copy of your receipt. You might buy a wrong size, a videogame for the wrong video game console, or just something that they already have.
Boys and girls obviously have different tastes when it comes to buying and receiving gifts. Boys, typically teens, are mostly interested in clothes and electronics.
“I just want clothes and some videogames for my X-Box,” said Jacob Johnston ’13.
If teenage boys like getting clothes for Christmas, try to figure out what style they wear. Ralph Lauren, Nike, Air Jordan, North Face, and Under Armour are popular brands that teenagers wear.
Some popular electronics are Dre Beats, which are studio head phones that give clear, high quality music. Apple products, such as iPods, iPhones, and MacBook’s seem to have a high popularity and quality rating amongst their products.
Girls have an altered taste that’s different from what boys want to receive for Christmas. Girls, like boys, want a lot of clothes as gifts. Girls do have different styles, though. Yoga pants are popular for most teenage girls. North Face, Pink, and Victoria’s Secret are very popular brands for girls, too. Perfume can make any girl turn her frown upside down.
“For Christmas, I asked for a hair straightener, jeans, phone cases, shirts, and a boyfriend,” stated Melissa Malofy ’13.
Laptops, like the Apple MacBook, are popular amongst boys and girls. Jewelry is more popular for girls, rather than boys. Popular jewelry items that girls like are belly button rings, earrings, nose piercings, and tongue rings. It would be good to know what piercings the person has before you buy the items.
For boys and girls during Christmas time, giving and receiving gifts can be very heart warming and an enjoyable experience. Boys and girls have different taste when it comes to giving and receiving presents. Remember to ask yourself some simple questions before purchasing that next pricy item. Boys are mostly interested in electronics and clothes. Girls like electronics, but not the same ones as boys. Girls also enjoy jewelry and clothes.
