Things are always changing here at Warren Woods Tower and one thing never fails; a class will graduate and leave there sports teams left to start over. Unlike some things, Tower has been gifted for the last four years with the talent of Shelby Weeks `12. She has been on varsity softball since she was a freshman.

When Shelby was 6 she started to play with WVAC just for fun. She would have never thought that it could be something that she will play for the rest of the life.  “I am so glad that I started to play. It has been so much fun and I look forward to playing more,” Shelby said.

Growing up she has always played with older people and faces a challenge this year because she is no longer the underclassmen. Next year she is captain of softball and basketball (this will be the second year she will lead her teams).

“It will be different to not be playing with the kids that I grew up with,” Shelby said. She played with Katie Welk `11 on the team Fury and played with her all through out high school. “Katie has been a huge influence to me and her upbeat personality made softball fun,” Shelby said.

Shelby has played on many other travel teams outside of WWT, she hopes to play in college and will be trying to get into colleges out of state.  “Shelby only knows one way to play – hard – she puts her whole heart into it and never stops trying,” Mr. Marchand said.

The other kids on the team are looking forward to seeing what she will bring to the table next year with her experience and drive to win.
