The Pre Sat gained weight!

National merit scholarships are at stake!

The new pre sat has way more weight for this year’s junior class and those who come next. There are now national merit scholarships attached to the changed practice test. Pre sat scores will be analyzed against the pre sat10 the juniors took in the spring.  Along with the test changing, the day’s schedule will also change.

Mr. Mackenzie explained “The 3 main reasons for all the change is to improve scores, prepare the students for the SAT, and allow students to get the National merit scholarship.”

All POHI/CI, 9th grade, and 10th grade students DO NOT have to attend school on Wednesday, the 19th of October.  11th grade students must attend from 7:30 till 11:35. Seniors have to attend from 7:30 to 9:30.

Senior, Tyler Carnacchi, was quoted saying “Its not completely unnecessary to have us come to school but, they could have pulled us out of class instead.”

During the juniors testing time, seniors will be completing the required career cruising and will have a class meeting regarding FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and discussing information about graduation.

Although the day’s schedule has changed, parent teacher conferences will still be held in the afternoon and evening at 3:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:30.
