The weekend of the fall play was an exciting time for WWT thespians. It not only showcased much of the young talent that will be partaking in the spring musical but it ended the long wait for the announcement of what the spring musical will be. On the back of each program was this announcement which caused a lot of excitement. The Warren Woods Tower 2015 spring musical is Legally Blonde directed by John Forlini!

This announcement grabbed the attention of one student in particular. “I started sobbing because this is my favorite musical and has been for years. It’s been a dream of mine to perform it and now that dream is coming true,” Melissa Nichols ‘15 exclaims.

Others were not as passionate about the reveal of the spring musical. “I was excited but I was hoping it was going to be Beauty and the Beast!” Annie Vander Veen ‘15 says.

Everyone is anxious to see what roles they will be cast as. Auditions take place in December and typically require a singing, dancing, and acting audition.

“I’m excited to see what kind of role I will get. A big role would be ideal because it’s my senior year,” Matt Zamiska ‘15 hopes.

“I think everyone would like to be Elle Woods because she is the lead but I want to be Paulette Boneaparte! I love dogs, we have the same range, shes spunky just like me, has the best song in the show and I just love her character,” Nichols says.

“I would like to be Elle Woods but I think that Brooke the fitness lady who jump ropes all the time would be fun to play,” Vander Veen adds.

Even non-thespian students of WWT are excited to see the drama students in action this spring! “Knowing this year’s musical is Legally Blonde makes me really excited to see it. It’s cool to support friends and see classmates take part in such an elaborate show that they spend a majority of their school year preparing for,” Mackenzie Regier ’15 explains.

For anyone interested in auditioning for Legally Blonde, they will be held in December. Keep an eye out for official dates! The spring musical will be showing April 17-19, 2015 at the WWMS auditorium.
