Would you ever imagine Asia being such a big thing in the states? Well Asian culture has taken the country by storm recently, people all over the country are listening to Asian music, eating Asian food, and watching Asian TV. One of the more popular anime is the japanese manga series/anime Attack on Titan or Shingeki No Kyojin. There are many anime out there and Attack On Titan is one of the more popular ones, It is well developed and has also become a live action movie, This is a good anime to start with.
Attack On Titan is a about a young boy named Eren Yeager who lives within the walls with many other humans on the brink of extinction from the evil Titans. The Titans are giant bloodlusting monsters that feed on humanity. The Titans appeared on the Earth 100 years prior to the story beginning. The humans had lived inside the walls peacefully for 100 years until one day the Colossal Titan attacks and breaches there outermost wall. The story around Eren, his foster sister Mikasa Ackerman, and their childhood friend Armin Arlert. After the Wall is breached Eren watches his mother be eaten by Titan and from that day on he vows to kill all of the Titans and join the kingdom’s military. But later he discovers a power he never knew he could posses.
Attack On Titan has become so popular that they have actually made a live action film of it. This anime has taken the world by storm in the past few years. Even if someone has not watched the anime chances are they may have heard of it. “The show really looks interesting and I know it will be an action tale about survival.” stated by Andrew Bowers ‘16. Also the company Funimation has been credited with some of the best graphics and some of the best dubs in the anime world. “FUNimation has to be the best in the game.” Bowers added.
This anime is also a very good starter anime and can really throw you into the type of show. “I would definitely recommend the show, It’s a good starter anime,” Reneh Gelladuga ‘16 states. The anime has good character development and can really draw you into it and possbly make you addicted. Asian culture is quite intriguing.
The anime world is very wide and has a large expanse of worlds. Now you can journey through them all. Whether the show is an action fighting anime like Dragon Ball Z or a brutal horror one like Tokyo Ghoul you could start the journey with Attack On Titan.
