Amelia Earhart


Amelia Earhart was most recognized for being the first woman to fly solo over the Atlantic ocean alone. She was a pioneer that fought for equal rights between men and women. She also got the US distinguished flying cross for her flight over the Atlantic. While on her second flight over the Atlantic, it is said that Earhart’s plane ran out of fuel and it crashed into the Atlantic ocean. It is said that she drowned but she was declared dead 6 months after she was first reported missing. In 2020, an image suggesting Amelia Earhart’s plane is submerged at the Taraia spit in Nikumaroro lagoon. It is believed to be the final resting place of the Aviatrix, Amelia’s aircraft.
